We never had a fondue pot before, so I can't compare it to anything else, but we're having a lot of fun with it. My only complaint is the short cord. I don't know anyone with an electrical outlet on their dining room table, so you must have an extension cord, and it has to be a heavy duty one, so that's a pain - hence only four stars. Other than that, we were only two people - if you have more people, dinner would take a LONG time unless you had a lot of food other than the fondue to eat while you're waiting. We tried it twice so far - once with meat/veggies in oil (way too greasy for our taste, but delicious and quick), and once in broth - much easier on the digestion.
I think this is a great gift for people who like to experiment with different food concepts, at home.

Just made cheese fondue and loved this product! Easy to control the heat and easy to clean. However, the heat settings on the Cuisinart CFO-3SS Electric Fondue Maker range from 1-8 and anything over 2 boiled the cheese. High heat is needed for cooking in oil, but we'll see if there's a low enough setting for chocolate.
My BIG question is...where can I buy NON-SCRATCH FONDUE FORKS?? I heard some metal in contact with the non-stick surface and had to fight the urge to say, "Hey! Don't scratch my new fondue pot!" Anyway, bamboo skewers/chopsticks aren't really optimal for the purpose. Any ideas?

I received two of these fondue pots for Christmas. They are wonderful. We used one for Super Bowl to have a cheese fondue at the start of the game and a classic meat fondue at the end. The temperature control worked perfectly for both and maintained the temperature well. The cord is short, but fortunately I have a plug in just the right spot on the end of my kitchen counter. I have a feeling they made the cord that way to try and avoid tripping incidents.
The non-stick surface makes for easy cleanup and when it came out of the dishwasher, it looked just as it did straight out of the box.
This pot makes fonue quick and easy and will definitely be used often in our house!

These pans are brilliant! They heat fast and hot yet can hold perfectly low temperature for chocolate fondue. I've done all kinds of varieties of fondue in these and been impressed every time. I did oil fondue for 6 people and it cooked the food lightning quick and stayed at a perfect temperature even though there were 12 pieces of food in the oil almost constantly. Those stupid little cans of Sterno don't do it like this does. With this pan you can do everything in the pan, no stupid heat it up in a separate pan because your fondue pan doesn't have the giddyup to melt cheese or boil broth. I bought a second one after trying one and it makes a multiple-course fondue party a breeze.Customer Review: Great fondue pot! Short cord...

This is a great fondue pot. It has 10 adjustable power settings and is spacious for many people to join. It's covered in Teflon, which is good, but you have to make sure you don't scratch it too much. It comes with many fondue sticks and a lid of resting. The major problem, however, is the cord. As good as this fondue pot is, they didn't think of adding a longer cord than a yard(or less)? It says on the manual not to use an extension cord, but really, what else could we do? It couldn't be any fun crowding around the kitchen counter and eating it. All in all, the pot, itself works wonders. The only thing that really fails (and I mean majorly fails) is the cord.
