Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart CCJ-100 Citrus Pro Juicer

Customer Review: Cuisinart should be ashamed
Summary: 2 Stars

First, I would like everyone to know I love the Cuisinart brand of products. I have replaced most of my old kitchen small appliances with Cuisinart products over the past ten years. However, Cuisinart should be ashamed to have their name on this product, the Cuisinart CCJ-100 Citrus Pro Juicer.

The rubber "feet" on the product travel across the draining board when it is in use. It has a very low juice capacity and the juice needs to be emptied after approximately 1/2 of a grapefruit is squeezed. The pulp catcher qorks well, but is filled quickly and needs to be cleaned extremely often as you work. The pulp catcher is unwieldly and must be physically picked out by your fingersin lieu of just being able to rinse the pulp out of the machines pulp catcher.

I will definitely opt for a more expensive juicer with a different brand name attached.

Customer Review: What fun!

After struggling with a hand reamer for too long, I got this. We have a full Breville juicer, but I was never impressed with its citrus capabilities. This one is great, so easy (no need to peel), and only three parts to worry about cleaning. The centrifuge feature for getting the last bits of juice is really cool, and it really does get every drop of juice.

I agree with a lot of the negative reviews, but don't find them to be problematic as they're pretty easily solved. Just knock out the pulp after every 2-3 pounds worth of fruit and you won't have a big mess. Hold on to the fruit with both hands and the thing won't skid all over the counter.

If you're looking for something just to juice citrus, this is simple and elegant to use, and produces a great deal of juice in a short time (including cleanup!).

Customer Review: Couldn't Stand Up to Regular Use
Summary: 1 Stars

This was an early gift from my spouse as I prepared to juice lemons for Christmas Eve seafood salad (with a lemon-juice based cerviche-style dressing).

The auto-reverse feature was a bit troublesome, but when its working properly it is not too difficult. The bigest problem is that the machine is not built to take anything more than the most occasional juicing of one or two fruits.

After Christmas, I would juice a Costco-sized bag of lemons or limes once a month or so to make fresh ades. The until simply was not up to the task. What sounded like plastice internal gears on the reversing mechanism soon began to skip frequently, not turning the reamer and making a racket in the process. The following summer season sealed its fate, and a six-month old unit didn't make the cut to be moved to our new home.

Customer Review: Hang the Designers!
Summary: 1 Stars

A product so bad the manufacturers must have known we would hate it before they ever put it on the shelves. I went back to my manual juicer after investing in this turd. Spills juice on the counter every time you use it, produces half the juice per fruit that I can make by hand, two-handed operation necessary and it's expensive. Mine's under the counter now, maybe someday I'll tear it apart for the motor. So much for your good name, Cuisinart. You knew you were ripping off your customers when you decided to sell this thing, now you never get to peddle me another appliance for as long as I live. Shortsighted of you? Who knows? I'm no marketing scumbag hired to post fake favorable reviews on this site; just another customer dumb enough to believe your brand name still meant quality. Live and Learn. Buyers beware.

Customer Review: AWESOME JOB FOR THE 4 Stars

I decided to go ahead and purchase this juicer even after reading some of these crazy reviews. My deal is Cuisinart is one of my favorite brands and in the past i have only had one item go bad on me. I told them the problem and just that easy had a new one sent to me. A lot of the reviews talk about the plastic juicer that isnt sharp enough to get the juice and pulp out?!?!? What??? This thing leaves nothing but the skin after 5-7 seconds of spinning.
The ONLY thing that i agree with that a couple people commented on was it is a little slippery on the counter. It tends to move a little in the direction the blade is spinning. I found that if i make sure the counter top is dry and free of any liquid it will stay in place.

Hey???? for $35.00 you seriously can't go wrong!!! Fresh Martinis in 5 minutes!!
