Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart AMB-9SP Chef's Classic Nonstick Bakeware 9-Inch Springform PanCustomer Review: Meh.... Summary: 3 Stars
Guess I had high hopes for this one....
Pros:
Heavy-duty feel
Non-stick
Didn't melt in my oven
Cons:
Leaks - poured in my batter and lifted up the entire setup and saw I had a good 50mL of it all over the counter
... For the price I can't complain.
To remedy leaking initially in the oven, I place the pan on a cookie sheet that has parchment to catch any of the leaking batter.
However, I haven't found a good remedy for the initial leaking when filling the unit. Maybe just plan to make a little extra batter each time.
Could always use it as a hat in the rain to keep your head wet... but oh wait, it leaks. Ho hum.
Customer Review: These guys have weight. Summary: 5 Stars
Because of my troubles with the Cuisinart food processors, I'd lost a bit of my faith in the company. When my boss told me to snag some spring form pans for the restaurant, I went with the Cuisinart, because of the 4-for-3 promotion, and because the price was about what we were willing to spend.
Dear LORD these suckers are solid! The base, unlike many other spring form pans, is thick and heavy. It won't warp or bend. The sides are also completely solid and heavy. We're going to be buying this type of spring form pan only from now on, because of their heft.
They also release baked goods very easily. No need to grease the pan. The nonstick coating is wonderful.
Customer Review: Mine leaks too Summary: 2 Stars
This was my first time using this type of pan. It's a nice, heavy duty pan that is definitely non-stick. The cheesecake was easily separated from the outer ring and turned out nicely. I had read the reviews about it leaking, so was ready in case this one did, and it did leak, even though I made sure it was snapped in all the way around. I put a pyrex bowl underneath the drip while it was in the oven and of course, once it started cooking, the drip stopped after about 10 minutes.
I will keep looking for a springform pan that does not leak, if some has suggestions.
Customer Review: very nice Summary: 5 Stars
Very nice and easy to use. I heard it was hard to remove cakes from these springform pans, but it was quite easy with these nonstick springform pans (and take this from a person that like, never cooks or bakes). The cake turned out pretty good, and the price for these things were pretty good too (so in case I never bake again, at least I did not spend a whole ot of money). I think these are a good idea to go with if you are anything like me and think you are going to bake all the time, but at the back of your mind you know you will not, but you figure you may as well try.
Customer Review: I love this Summary: 5 Stars
I have been making cheesecakes for 25 years which means using the old time aluminum pans. This has got some weight making it easier to use and clean. I always cover my bottoms with parchment or waxed paper so I can move my cheesecakes onto serving platters and for storage. It is easy to clean, you can't put the "body" in a dishwasher on any springform pan and expect it to come out spotless but there is NO RUST and the bottom does go in like a plate.
If you lightly butter the sides nothing sticks to this as it bakes so transfering your product is a breeze.
