Customer Review: excellent quality and great price

I bought this pan as part of my cookware upgrade and I was looking for something good quality at a reasonable price. Other reviewers' comments encouraged me, with all but one giving the peice full marks. I am really pleased with it; it looks professional, it heats evenly - made potstickers several times and got consistent browning. Used it for a pork tenderloin which required using the pan on the stove top and oven, and results were excellent. After reading reviews of stainless cookware I bought some barkeeper's friend, which removes any discoloration from cookware and makes it like new. It goes in the dishwasher, and I've even seen Cuisinart Chef's classic used by Dave Lieberman on the Food Network. By comparison, this kind of cookware is so much better than non-stick, and I know many have complained that stainless is so much harder to maintain and have balked at the idea of having to buy a specialized cleaning product. I think this is a misconception, non-stick doesn't go in the dishwasher, and even though I've been really careful with my Calphalon non stick peices, they're not holding up too well, and scratches are starting to appear. I will probably wind up with only the necessary non-stick omelette pan, and have everything else in stainless steel. Plus, the Barkeeper's friend is cheap and widely available. I will definately buy Cuisinart Chef's classic cookware when I'm replacing my old student cheap-as-possible cookware.
