Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart 619-16 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 1-1/2-Quart Saucepan with Lid

Customer Review: Cuisinart Nonstick Saucepan
Summary: 5 Stars

I am one of those diehard cooks who has clung to the same cast iron pots and pans for 30 years. Recently, I moved to a tiny studio apartment and had to cull most of my well-loved cookware. Having finally grown tired of soaking and scouring multiple pans, I decided to get one nonstick pan I could use everyday with a minimum of fuss. After reading the reviews and checking the prices, I settled on the Cuisinart 1 1/2-quart nonstick saucepan which I bought on sale from Amazon. This is the most wonderful pan I have ever owned. It heats up quickly and cooks evenly while the handle stays cool. I can cook oatmeal in the morning, leave the saucepan on the stove all day, and then clean it in 2 seconds--no soaking. I recommend this Cuisinart saucepan without reservation. I'd buy a whole set if I had the room to store it.

Customer Review: 1.5 quart
Summary: 4 Stars

I'm not sure that all the reviews here are for this particular model. I like it. It looks good. I wouldn't call it lightweight ... it has enough heft to it. I haven't noticed the handle getting hot or even warm. I suspect that some folks are using a flame or burner which is wider than the pot bottom. Certainly if you apply heat directly to the handle it will get hot but I haven't felt the pot transferring heat through the handle at all. I had a one quart which was a little too small and a two quart which was a bit too big. So like Goldilocks I was looking for something in the middle but one and a half quart pots are hard to find. This pot at this price at this quality was just right. An added bonus is that this pot heats quickly. I noticed that this pan boiled water much faster than my other pots.

Customer Review: Useful, Quality, and Value
Summary: 5 Stars

This is absolutey an awesome pan, and when you factor the price, its a steal. The Quantanium nonstick coating allows you to saute, with no worries about sticking, or scorching. If you want to finish off a dish in the broiler or oven, its oven safe up to 500 degrees. The riveted stay-cool steel handle allows you to handle the pot while cooking without a potholder, wich is nice if you like to make quick sauces or gravies and pour it right onto food on the plate, also never worry about the handle getting lose. And also while cooking you dont have to open the pot to monitor food, and lose steam or heat due to the break-resistant tempered glass lid. Perfect Perfect Perfect pot.

Customer Review: So Easy Cleanup!
Summary: 5 Stars

I knew that the nameCuisinart Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 1-1/2-Quart Saucepan with Lid was a very good one, but I never thought it possible that a saucepan could do so much, and end up with almost toil free cleanup. I have spent many years, (50+) cooking, but I have never owned pots and pans by "Cuisinart as I felt they were out of my price range. I decided to treat myself, and search for one, but this will not be the only Cuisinart utensil in my kitchen. Amazon makes it possible to purchase the very best, at a great price, wih wonderful customer service.

Customer Review: Great Saucepan!
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this saucepan! I have been slowly replacing old pans with Calphalon, which I love too, but I didn't want to pay $30 or more for just a saucepan; this one is wonderful and I loved the price! I read the reviews first and couldn't be happier, easy to clean, feels good in the hand, love the glass lid...I was concerned about the handle, since I often have dermatis on my hand, didn't want something that hurt, cutting into my dry skin, but not this handle, really quite comfortable to hold.
I like it so much, I am thinking of getting another one, just to have on hand.
