W A R N I N G: A N O T H E R....TYPE OF ICE-CUBE TRAY IS JUST AS BAD AS THIS ONE...BUT IN A DIFFERENT WAY. PLEASE...D O ..N O T..BUY ANY ICE-CUBE TRAYS MADE OF SILICONE! I HAVE REVIEWED THE ONE I BOUGHT...SOLD BY 'GET ORGANIZED'.....BUT I FEEL NO-ONE SHOULD GO THROUGH THE AGONY I WENT THROUGH, WITH A N Y SILICONE ICE-CUBE TRAY. AS FOR T H I S ONE...
I, too, have had nothing but bad results from these sad-little-pretend-to-be-ice-cube trays! Now, thanks to my fellow-reviewers-in-agony, I at least know WHY I had so much trouble! (Thanks, guys!) STIFF trays, which just WON'T twist enough, easily enough, to get the little, (TINY, TEENSY-WEENSIE LITTLE), cubettes out of the tray, to get them where you want them!
I mean, it SEEMED like a good idea... Lacking an ice-crusher, teeny-tiny ice cubes seemed THE way to make a drink cold, fast. Only, the tray here is made of such STIFF plastic, the cubes just WON'T come out. Unless you run hot water on the back of the ice-cube trays, and get them all in the sink, (which has to be pretty clean, beforehand, for one to do this! But the cubes are SO tiny, that the warm water makes them almost invisibly small....and difficult as h__l to use!!!!
DO NOT use these trays to make ice cubes! Do NOT waste your money on them! If you have already bought them, used them, and cannot return them....well, there are more expensive things that waste one's money, and you can comfort yourself that these weren't TOO expensive. Comfort yourself by reminding yourself that great men, too, had their mistakes. (Abraham Lincoln failed at EVERYTHING before his first success, Thomas Edison failed about 1500 times, before he created the first light bulb, Harry Truman was cheated on by his parter in haberdashery -- and Millicent Fenwick's mother tragically died on the Titanic, when Millicent was just a little girl....) Thinking of these and other tragedies will, I hope, put your purchase of these @!!"*!?! ice-cube trays in perspective!
My advice is to drink some nice warm coffee, or tea, (which don't require ice-cubes), get a good night's sleep, and -- as soon as you're able to -- make a list of everything, (and everyone), in your life which makes you happy. Your one-time unfortunate purchase, of these admittedly dreadful ice-cube trays, will pale into insignificance, as you concentrate on what makes your life good, and how to make it even better : )
