I bought this slow cooker after my wife was complaining about her old one. The old one had poor temperature control that limited actual slow cooking. I selected this one after reviewing Consumer Reports and we've already used it several time in the few short weeks since we purchased it. My wife is so pleased with the unit that she is revamping dinner options around the cooker! Now in my opinion that speaks volumes. We made one dish with the new cooker that we had tried with the old one. The dish was a Greek meatloaf. The old cooker gave us a hard dried up lump while the new cooker gave us a delicious, moist meal.
The clean up is easy and it is nice that it is dishwasher compatible.

I bought this after looking at many reviews and other brand/styles. I have been very happy with my purchase. I use this crockpot several days a week and it is a life saver, very convenient. The only thing that I have noticed is that when making a pasta or rice dish (basically a dish that is not alot of liquid) it tends to burn on the parts that are around the border. I have not yet attempted to reduce the cooking time to see if this corrects the problem. All of the other recipes I have used have been fine. It is extremely handy to be able to pre-cook in the pot to avoid an extra mess. I absolutely love that it has a timer and then changes to warm after the time is up. The crockpot is nice. I have used it quite a few times since I purchased it a month ago. The product information booklet / cookbook could be better. The only means of contacting Customer Service listed is snail mail. I had to surf the web to find an email and phone number. VersaWare products are considered limited editions - EVEN THOUGH IT DOESN'T SAY IT ANYWHERE. Therefore, replacement parts are not available. How do I know this? Yesterday I dropped the stoneware lid and it broke into two pieces. Customer Service informed me that they do not make replacement parts for VersaWare products. So, basically I have a one month old crockpot that I can not use and I am out $70. Buyer beware!!!!!Customer Review: A little bit of it all

I got this crock pot because I wanted something that could do basically everything and it lives up to that. It also cleans really easily but I haven't put it in the dishwasher. The timer function is great also. I'm busy with my 9mo. old so if I'm with her or running errands it waits on me, don't we all want that? The only cons are that the outside gets pretty hot even on the low setting and that I wish it could be used at a higher temp on the stove top. It suggest nothing higher than medium for fear of damaging it. So it makes getting things to the boiling point a bit slow but other than that this is a great product. I don't know why I would ever have to buy another crock pot.Customer Review: High and Low settings are switched

Model SCV1600B-SS. After burning two roasts and some chicken I started to do some checking. I found that the high and low setting are reversed. I filled the pot full of water about a inch from the top and turned it on high for 4 hours with the lid on. The temperature reached about 178 F. I switched it on low and the temperature reached about 198 F. I switched it back to high and the temperature went back down to 178 F. I got a couple of Rival Crock Pots from some friends that are different models purchased within the past two years and got similer results. They all had the high and low settings reversed. I emailed Crock Pot about this but haven't got a response yet.
