Over the last couple of years I have gone slow-cooker crazy. I love the convenience and great tasting food that comes out of these things BUT cannot recommend this model. It runs way too hot and the ceramic crock fits in way too tightly. No matter what I try, condensed steam on the lid spills out over the rim and runs down in between, even on "low" setting. This causes the crock to stick to the pot. What a pain. Keep looking: You won't be sorry to get a slow cooker, just maybe not this one.Customer Review: TASTY FOOD GREAT CROCKPOT

Just bought this crockpot this weekend or actually on Black Friday 2003, it was inexpensive and it is a great way for me to learn how to cook for one instead of making large meals and having to freeze a ton of food.A great crock pot if you are cramped on space i.e. apartment, studio, small townhouse, cape cod living. Doesn't take up much room and can fit a decent size portions of food in the crock pot.
Makes flavorful food...delicious....the toughest of cuts turn out perfection!

I bought this for my Dad so he could have a crock pot at his winter home in Florida.He says the fact the ceramic pot can be removed and put in the dishwasher is wonderful.He has made several recipes from the recipe booklet it came with and a cook book I bought him and he has said everything has comes out great.He said he will be taking this one back up north since this is much nicer that the old one he has.He recommends this highly!Customer Review: Gets it done and Keeps it goin.

Over a year now of use and there are surface cracks on the ceramic pot but they are normal in any crock pot.
Very nice tool to have in your kitchen, great value.

I used it for the first time yesterday. It smelled like something plastic or rubber inside the cooker was burning. I was really afraid it's going to burn and kept an eye on it for about 5 hours. The stew was well done but it did scare me. I have no experience with slow cooker, is this smell normal for first-time use, or the one I received has some problem?
