Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Crock-Pot 3735-WN 3-1/2-Quart Slow CookerCustomer Review: great slow cooker Summary: 4 Stars
I love this slow cooker. The size is just right for two or three people and it is simple to use. About the only thing I wish it had was a keep warm setting. Others made comments about the lid leaking but my personal experience with that is just don't fill it to the rim because any pan will leak around the lid if you do something like that. We cooked beans the day after I got it and they were perfect.
Customer Review: Excellent and Easy Summary: 5 Stars
I used to make fun of these cooking machines. Now, I am a convert. Set it and forget it. How easy is that?
Recipe: some pork meat, sprinkle with dry onion soup mix, throw on a can of whole bean cranberry sauce. Set it on low for 8 hours. 8 hours later you have a delicious meal. There is plenty of juice, the meat is tender and great tasting. Yes, I am a convert.
Customer Review: single folks get a smaller one Summary: 3 Stars
I am a single fellow that has tried several recipes in this cooker. It is certainly straightforward and easy to clean but unless you are cooking something up that you intend on having a lunch and dinner leftover buy a smaller crockpot. It is bigger than I thought and cooks wierd if it's not full enough. Other than that it would be great if you're feeding four at a time.
Customer Review: I have a question?? Summary: 3 Stars
I just received my Rival 3735WN slow cooker in the mail from Amazon.com. The glass lid has a manufacturer's hole in it - why would it have a hole in it? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a crockpot? Does anyone else's have a hole in the lid? Other crockpots I've seen don't have holes in their lids. Is this a new thing? Thanks for your comments.
Customer Review: Lid leaks, again! Summary: 2 Stars
This is the second Rival crock pot I've gotten and both had the same problem - there is a 1/8 inch gap between the lid and the ceramic base. This lets out a lot of steam during the slow-cook period, so the food can dry out and it is less efficient of our energy. It seems it wouldn't be much more effort for them to make a lid that actually fit the base without that gap!
