Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Crock-Pot 3735-WN 3-1/2-Quart Slow Cooker

Customer Review: Good Product
Summary: 5 Stars

In my search for a crock pot, I wanted something that was the right size for my lifestyle. I wanted something that I could cook dishes just for myself or make a dish that I could use for several meals, or make something for several dinner guests. It is basic in style with just one control knob, which means less technology to break, and it fits well in my smaller kitchen. It cooks evenly and there is no spillage because of the lip around the lid. Overall a great product.

Customer Review: Rival Crockpot 3 1/2 qt.
Summary: 3 Stars

One of the reviews described this crockpot as cool to the touch. Even on low there is a spot that is hot. On high the entire outside is too hot to keep a hand on it. A bad feature that makes me uncomfortable leaving it untended all day.

Aside from that (which is a major consideration) I love the way it cooks, the design is attractive, and the size is very convenient.

Also, I have not been able to find out what is meant by the "auto-protect safety system"

Customer Review: falling apart
Summary: 2 Stars

After about 3 years of light usage, the plastic handle on the side of the cooker (not the handle of the crock) is broken so severely that I cannot safely lift the cooker. It is literally about to break off of the cooker at any moment. The ceramic crock is cracked inside. The metal shell is thin and dents easily. This unit works, but you can anticipate the need to replace in a fairly short time. There is no " keep warm" setting, only a low setting, which is not that low.

Customer Review: Very useful kitchen appliance
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought a large slow cooker from amazon and ordered this smaller model about a week later -- it's a handy size for smaller dishes. It's an ideal design. And it turns out incredible oatmeal! Among many other dishes. It's the perfect size for a three- or four-pound chicken.

I wish I'd had one of these when I was in college. Very handy. I'd highly recommened "Not Your Mother's Slow-Cooker Cookbook" for recipes.

Customer Review: handle broke off
Summary: 3 Stars

Hi. This product works great, but the cover slipped out of my hands into the sink, and though it didn't break, the handle broke off. No glue works on it, and crockpot no longer sells this lid as a replacement part. The silliest thing is that they don't sell the handle as a replacement part even though it's attached by a screw and so completely removable. The offered me a discount on a new pot, but that is so wasteful!
