Customer Review: Low quality imprints

The pattern is beautiful, and as other reviewers have said - the plates are on the heavier side, which is nice. However, from the 2 sets I got, only 2-3 plates had a good imprint - the others had either a smudged or misaligned print. It looks like they print the mustard background first, leaving white gaps where other colors are supposed to go, and then the red color is layered on top - but the two or three layers of color they layer on top of each other do not align, creating an obviously bad print, full of white gaps and badly aligned color layers.
What is more irritating is that the prints are surface prints - first time I tried using a knife to cut something on the small plate (the one with the yellow background in the middle) I left a whole bunch of black marks and cuts in the print. The print's surface is rough because the print itself is not protected by a thin layer of glass - therefore you can scratch it, and metal edges will leave a mark on it.
The mugs are from a different material than the plates - and their white is greyish off-white, while the plates' white surface is warmer - enough to make them different shades of white. Amazon was cool to send over a replacement set when I complained about the misprints, but the replacement set also had the same problems, so I sent everything back. I would not use this set if it were free, let alone pay anything for it.

This starter set, which can be accessorized with all kinds of serving ware, includes four of each of the following: dinner plate, salad plate, soup or cereal bowl, and mug.
