Customer Review: Love my plates :)

We have had our dish set for about a year now. The flowers have yet to wear off. There are little gray scratches from knife marks, so if you have a tough steak, I suggest using a cutting board. The square shape is fun and funky, the Kobe pattern is so much better then the "granny" patterns corelle usually makes. My husband and I decided on the Kobe pattern because I was going to have a shabby chic yellow and white kitchen, and the pattern with the square shape is really elegant and modern. I ended up with a red kitchen, but the plates look beautiful in it too! They are very versatile. There are a few negatives to the set, 1) the bowl is typical granny corelle, they didn't put the pattern on it, instead they trimmed the edge in the funny green shade. 2) the mugs are not light weight corelle wear, but ceramic, and one of ours has chipped. They did a nice job making it look like it matches though. 3) there are no desert plates available. The lunch plate is what we usually use for dinner, the supper plate for holidays but there are no smaller plates. 4) There are no tea cups and saucers incase I want to have a nice sunday lunch, everyone gets a mug 5) Square (and the size of the large plates) is IMPOSSIBLE to find a charger for for holidays, etc!! If you want to have fancy parties with the whole schibang, go with round plates.
I'm really glad they're comming out with more coordinating pieces although from the reviews I don't think I'll be buying them. I would like the tea kettle, but they slapped that ugly green handle on it rather then going with white. The glasses look beautiful online, but are reviewed as fragile. I would like the tray to carry things out to our BBQ on, but again, it's plastic. Corelle shouldn't be putting it's name on the "coordinating" pieces if it can't back up the quality which is expected from the Corelle brand.
