Customer Review: Terrible experience with Amazon and Corelle

I purchased this set about six months ago. I was in the process of a kitchen makeover and did not take them out of the Amazon box due to this taking longer than expected. I did take out the mugs to use and was handwashing them. I used them for approximately one month, when I noticed a huge chunk out of the side of one of the mugs. I then noticed small chips around the rim of two of the other mugs. I contacted Corelle, who told me that I could do nothing, since I did not register the product within 30 days. I told them, I had not even taken them out of the shipping box. Again,they said nothing could be done. I contacted Amazon and told them it clearly stated on their website, that there is a one year chip warranty. I let them know that nowhere does it state it must be done within a certain time period. They told me I must deal with the manufacturer. So, here I am, stuck with a set of mugs that are badly chipped, and a set of plates which I'm sure will be in that condition shortly. This was my first experience with Corelle, and it will certainly be my last. I would strongly NOT recommend this set.
