Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Corelle Coordinates Callaway 4-Piece Bake-and-Serve Casserole SetCustomer Review: BREAKAGE: AMAZON STILL DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO PACK THIS Summary: 5 Stars
Wouldn't you think that the people who ship things for Amazon would occasionally READ these reviews?
Despite numerous reports that they arrive broken, I ordered these Corelle bake-and-serve pieces because people seem to like them, and figured that SURELY by now Amazon had figured out how to ship them without breakage. Well, they arrived today and the lid of the smaller casserole is broken -- for an obvious reason:
The packaging (back in China where these are now made) is such that the handle of the larger lid rests on the smaller lid, separated only by a piece of thin cardboard. The slightest bump during shipping is going to drive the one against the other and break it. No amount of packing OUTSIDE the Corelle box will solve this problem.
Amazon needs to OPEN each package and INSERT protective bubble material between the two lids.
It shouldn't take ME to figure this out!
I'm writing this comment before submitting my request for a replacement top (which I am confident Amazon will provide).
What a waste for everyone, for Amazon shipping to allow a situation like this to continue -- not just for months, apparently, but for years!
Customer Review: broken TWICE Summary: 1 Stars
This isn't a review of the product since we could never use it. We ordered this because the price looked so good and we thought it would be a nice set to have. The first time it arrived the delivery person advised us to open it- sure enough it was SHATTERED beyond recognition (though it made a pretty sound). So we rejected the box. We decided to give it a second go, thinking they couldn't possibly botch the packing twice. Lo and behold the second set arrived - at least recognizable as cookware this time - but broken again. It is so clear from someone who packs and sends items that whoever packed this assumed it was a box of bricks. Many of the packing airbags were FLAT in both cases, but there wouldn't have even been enough to stop breakage even if they were all inflated. Essentially three sides of the box were padded, not even top and bottom. No more fragile purchases here!
Customer Review: Nice casserole set - hard to find in retail stores. Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased these as a Christmas gift, and they were a hit! First, I looked in all the major retail stores and could not find any Corelle Coordinates bowls like these, at all. So, I was please that Amazon not only had them but had a selection of them. I chose this pattern for its simplicity in design. The bowls arrived unbroken, very protectively wrapped, and the lids fit fine. I was concerned about both of these things after reading other reviews. The bowls are heavy, but that's to be expected as they must endure high heat in the oven. All in all, I'm very pleased and may even purchase a set for myself!
Customer Review: Good product but the packing is not right Summary: 3 Stars
I ordered two sets of this. When they were arrived, the lids of one set were broken. I sent the broken set back and about 1 month to now I have not received the replaced set back. They are good product, but please treat them well when packing. The lids should be fixed on the cardboard more securely, please use tape or some glue if they are needed.
Update: Finally received my replacement set after about 5 months. This time Amazon wrapped it carefully, no damage at all. Thanks Amazon.
Customer Review: Nice Big Casseroles Summary: 5 Stars
These are nice big casseroles. Yes, they're a little heavy, but not as heavy as a turkey roaster with a big Thanksgiving turkey in it. :) I'm sure they will keep things warm longer because of it being stoneware. I can't wait for an excuse to use them which will probably be tomorrow for tuna casserole. I've just been building up the Callaway Ivy pattern of dishes at this point.
Also, this seller was very, very good about following up with damaged shipments.
