Customer Review: The slobbering teakettle, looks good, doesn't work

This teakettle doesn't even whistle, like "Wheeeeeee", it howls, like a low pitched "Whoooooo" that you can't hear in the next room. It also slobbers. I have a gas stove and it almost put the flames out so much water came out of the "sealed" spout. Plus, when you pour the water into your cup, have a dishtowel handy because the water dribbles down the side of the kettle. I had this in storage and pulled it out, wondering why I hadn't pulled it out sooner, then was unfortunately reminded of the ugly truth to this pretty teakettle. Use it as a stovetop decoration but don't use it as a functioning teakettle. This time, I'm putting it in the goodwill instead of storage ... so I don't forget how badly it works and try using it again. There's a reason this style of teakettle has such a poor rating. Buyer beware.
