Customer Review: Well constructed, less moving parts.

Great teakettle. It's solidly built, I've had no problems with the construction of anything including the handle. My handle has a rubber type finish to it and it's easy to grip even when wet. It also has a ball bearing in the spout. Which makes the lid whistle function work perfectly. It's not as loud as my last teakettle but it is loud enough. I have two drawbacks... first, (which isn't a real problem) when it came out of the box the screen mesh and the ball bearing wouldn't stay in the spout. I ended up pushing it into its seated position where it did a little 'click' and now it stays. That could be a plus, as I know it's possible to remove it for cleaning or whatever. But they should have noted that in the little instructions booklet and didn't. My second drawback is because of the ball bearing, and the spout being smaller to accommodate it the water pours out more slowly than my last one. which had an unobstructed spout that was and inch and a half in diameter, BUT! there is no spout lid like most kettle's have, which means no moving parts, which is what broke on my last one, therefore I know I have a kettle that will last me a long time! So it's a happy trade off. I really love how it heats so quickly, how it looks and that it feels sturdy and well made.
