Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Copco 24-Ounce Big Joe Thermal Travel MugCustomer Review: What a cup! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this cup as a gift for my husband. He loves to drink tea, nice and hot, but any time he makes a pot, the second cup gets cold before he can finish it. So I looked for a *really big* insulated cup for his tea. This darned thing holds 24 oz. of tea, which is just what our little tea pot makes, and it keeps the tea HOT for over two hours. Warning: In the first week he had it, he burned his lip three times because he didn't wait long enough for the tea to cool down before taking a sip. But he loves his new tea cup and wouldn't trade it.
Customer Review: Great mug for capacity and movement. Summary: 4 Stars
Best features:
- 24oz!! impossible to find in stores
- Mug maintains beverage warmth very well
- Seal around lid is very effectively leak-proof
Some considerations:
- The seal is a thin rubber ring and is not fixed, and can come off if the lid is lifted or shut roughly, so just be easy with it
- It's a travel mug - not a thermos - the drinking spout does not close
- Handle might feel awkward when carrying the full mug for extended periods
OVERALL AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT
Customer Review: 24 oz thermo-mug Summary: 3 Stars
I was excited to find this 24 oz. covered thermo-mug that I can use for my morning coffee as it holds 2 mugs worth and is needed for my long daily commute. I did have a problem the first day, the rubber ring around the lid slid off & I had to put it back on. Also, the cover does not have a real tight fit, nor does it have any type of cap to cover the hole for the drinking spout. It does keep the coffee hot for quite a while and I LOVE the thin rim on the drinking side, this leads to a lot less drips!
Customer Review: Perfect For My Morning Coffee Fix Summary: 4 Stars
I leave for work at 4am each day, which, of course, necessitates a huge cup of coffee for the drive. Recently, I noticed that 7-11 offers a rather compelling deal - a 30% discount if you refill with your own mug rather than using their paper cups.
This cup fills the bill perfectly: solid, doesn't leak, keeps the coffee hot, and is easy to clean.
Only reason I rated it 4 stars instead of five is that the cup itself gets hot: however, the handle remains perfectly cool.
Customer Review: feel the burn Summary: 1 Stars
Be very very careful with this mug. As other reviewers have noted, the metal skin is NOT insulated from the hot liquid within and there's no sliding cover for the hole. Also the sipping hole is poorly designed to provide you with a nasty "slight tilt, nothing...a little more tilt, nothing...big tilt...SCALDING HOT GEYSER" effect on your lips and tongue as it allows surface tension to keep the drink restricted in the mug until you tilt it too far and surface tension breaks.
