Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Copco 24-Ounce Big Joe Thermal Travel MugCustomer Review: the big joe Summary: 4 Stars
i bought two of these because every other travel mug was too small or too big. this mug is just the right size for me holding a full 12 oz can of soda WITH ICE. this mug fits nicely in my auto cup holder.
a couple notes to consider. There are two drain holes on the bottom of the black plastic base. These leak out any condensation or moisture that gets in behind the stainless steel. the instructions that come with the mug say it is not dishwater safe but i ignored that, oh well, i guess i just voided my warranty. also, the rubber ribs are cool and touchy feely but they are set into slots cut into the stainless steel given moisture another way into the insulation cavity. i wouldn't try sticking this thing in the microwave.
what's up with the copco logo?
i will continue looking for the perfect 24oz mug.
Customer Review: Big Cuppa Joe Summary: 4 Stars
This mug is great. It is the Venti size at Starbucks in case you are wondering. It does keep the coffee hot for the 2 hours I like to sip it in the office. Normally I have iced coffee on hour 2 in my office so qualify my hot with that cause most people would call hour 2 warm. Anyway the only way this mug could be better is if the handle was fully attached and the inside was stainless steel like the smaller Oxo good grips thermal coffee mug. I have not had any leakage but sloshage is another story. My husband brakes hard so I wound up wearing a bit of the coffee. I got this mug because I like to get my coffee before the greedy people drink all the Southern Pecan coffee I bring in to the office....hmm does that make me just as greedy?
Customer Review: Fell Apart Summary: 1 Stars
I was washing it one day and noticed that the bottom had unscrewed a little. Being the curious type I unscrewed it all the way and found that you could take it all apart, which I thought was good for cleaning. There are notches and tabs on or in the parts so that everything locks together, but now the bottom doesn't screw on tight. If you try to tighten it, it will only go so tight before the threads pop and it goes back to the beginning. Anyone who's over tightened a lid on a plastic bottle knows what I mean. I've tried tightening it to just before the threads let go, but removing the cover requires quite a bit of force, so taking off the lid also pulls the bottom off and then the whole thing falls apart. What a piece of crap.
Customer Review: Great Product Summary: 5 Stars
I received these yesterday, I purchased 3 and was greatly surprised how well made they are for the price. There not cheap plastic like i've had before where the top seal eventually doesn't work and while drinking the drink drips down you all over you. Very nice fitted top and really like the handle as well as the ease of grips on the bottom. I had iced tea in one and when i awoke the ice cubes were still in it. Only drawback is if your looking for the lidslide where you sip this doesn't have one. For the price you can't beat it, there just like the ones out there close to $25.00. This is also for the drink lover who enjoys plenty and doesn't want to go get a second refill.
Customer Review: LEAKY Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this travel mug for my husband who has made coffee brewing and enjoyment a morning routine (really a ritual). He likes to drink his a H-U-G-E mug of hot coffee at the crack of dawn at the computer, which is at the far end of the house. This activity is an essential part of his pre-work morning routine. He has always lamented that he couldn't find a huge-enough cup (i.e. 24 oz) that would keep the coffee hot all the way to its finish. I thought that I found such a mug in the Copco Big Joe. However, this mug is extremely leaky and thus cancels out its advantages (i.e. 24 oz capacity and keeps the coffee hot).
