Cool It! Personal Fan
Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cool It! Personal FanCustomer Review: There are better products out there. Summary: 2 Stars
Pros: Well constructed, unlikely to break when you drop it or use it hard. Big battery capacity (4x AA), will last a long time on one set of batteries; you should not have to replace them even once during your whole vacation. Safe; the blades are rubberized, so you can stick your finger right into the moving blades and you won't hurt yourself. Probably a safe option for kids, but...
Cons: Not particularly strong; does not push as much air as many personal fans. It s big and heavy (this is, of course, the downside of the large battery capacity); I don't enjoy lugging this thing around. It comes with a beautiful lanyard for wearing around your neck - but frankly, it feels like a millstone, so no thanks. Otherwise, it takes up an entire pocket. Lastly, it is VERY expensive compared to most personal fans out there; being well constructed, it might be worth it if not for those major flaws; but as it stands, it's flaws are far too great to make it remotely worth the money.
There are other cheaper, lighter personal fans out there that push way more air. They won't last as long, and aren't as well constructed, but in the end, they can do the job much better for much less.
Final point: when I'm headed out the door and I reach for a personal fan to take with me, I leave this one behind and usually grab for a very cheap personal fan that runs on 2 AAs. It's a $3 piece of junk that I would not trust in the hands of a child, and there's about a 1 in 10 chance that it will break on me, or run out of batteries later that same day. BUT, it's very light, fits in my pocket with room for my cell phone, and pushes WAY more air than this one. Yah, it actually does what I need it to do.
