Wide slots are necessary for the European breads that we prefer. (Our last wide slot was an excellent Kenwood that died of old, old age and that model is no longer available.) Hence purchasing the Cloer seemed to be the only option. The Cloer browning knob is impossible to read but even if it were legible, it never toasts the same twice. And uneven? Ha! No matter how the slice of bread is positioned, the ends are burnt and the middle barely browned. And the so-called warming rack on top is a joke. Anyway, I wish my old appliance repair store hadn't closed as I'd have paid anything to get my Kenwood back!
