This cookbook holder is what I've been waiting for. It is simple to use, attractive, and well-balanced, so it stays upright no matter how big the cookbook in it may be. Why not perfect, then? The smaller acrylic piece against which you prop the book is narrower than the wooden base by several inches, so when the holder is folded and stored, the back prop piece falls out. I have had this cookbook holder for several years. It is very versatile -- accomodating magazines, clippings, large cookbooks, etc. My only complaint is that over time the acrylic has clouded up where I needed to clean it with something other than water (it is, of course, in the "line of fire" when I'm cooking). Perhaps if I'd used a special acrylic cleaner, I could have avoided this.Customer Review: Not Just For Cookbooks

I take this to meals whenever I'm eating by myself. It folds flat so it's easy to put into a knapsack or atache case, and it eliminates the problem of trying to hold a book in one hand while wielding a fork or other gastronomical weaponry with the other. I was very pleased with this holder. I received several large and beautiful cookbooks for Christmas and was wondering how I could use them and still keep them clean. This holder accommodates the largest books, makes page turning easy and keeps the pages clean. It folds down for easy storage. I just received this cookbook holder couple days ago. The design is quite simple but it does the job. My husband bought one made of stainless steel several years ago and we rarely use it because it keeps tipping over. This one is great, very durable, great looking. So glad I found it at Amazon. The only complaint I had is the shipping charges.
