This butter dish is perfect. I have to agree with another reviewer, it can be used upside down to warm up in the microwave and because of this, I bought it. A few weeks before, I purchase a glass one, with four young kids and a husband, I should have known better. It didn't last more than 3 weeks. This dish I've observed is so large that it can probably hold creme cheese so I'm thinking of getting another one. Another thing is that the base can be used on both sides! When I want to cut the butter, I can put it on the raised side and cut it easily, when it's left out in the warmth it can be left on the creased side and if it melts a little the butter will not spill out. Lastly, it has survived the hands of children and husband.
