Customer Review: Truly an everyday pan

I've had this pan for about 2 years now. I use it all the time. It still looks like new.
It does a wonderful job of cooking whatever I put in it. It is very light weight but I find it cooks evenly and fits the large burner (electric) perfectly. The lid forms a nice tight seal and I like the see through glass so I can check without raising the lid how my simmer is coming along.
I've baked in the oven with it too. You have to be a bit more careful since it will brown the bottom of the dish you are cooking so watch out for too much heat. I think I usually have cooked at 350. No burns but very brown and even forms sort of a one piece circle (not desirable).
Let me tell you what happened a few days ago - the reason for this review actually. I had washed the pan and put it on the stove on the back burner out of the way. On the front burner I had some rice cooking so I had it on med-high heat to bring it to a boil. I washed a few forks, spoons and my kitchen shears which have a plastic handle putting them in the pan as I rinsed them.
After a bit I noticed that the rice wasn't even bubbling at all. I could feel some heat from the stove so I knew the heat was on. I looked at the knob stupidly. I moved the pan and felt the coils. DUH! The back burner was on! OMG! The plastic handles had melted to the pan! YIKES. I was immediately bummed out thinking I'd ruined one of my favorite pans.
I carefully lifted the shears out with a paper towel. The came out almost intact with a couple of small spots sticking. I wiped those away with another paper towel!! I gave the pan a quick wash and then cooked dinner in it. WOW! hehe. No plastic taste. No damage to the pan!
Well worth the purchase price.
