Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Chicago Metallic 60640 Gourmetware Original Muffin Top PanCustomer Review: Great quality, works as expected Summary: 5 Stars
This pan works very well for making muffin tops as well as jumbo cookies. The nonstick surface works well even with low fat and whole grain recipes. I frequently spray the pan with Pam for Baking when using but even when I forget I've had no problem getting my muffins off. The pan is also very durable and resists scratches and rust even after frequent use.
Another poster mentioned reducing the cooking temp and time when using this pan. However, I typically stick with the temperature indicated in the recipe and watch closely for doneness. I haven't had problems with burning or uneven cooking at all with this method. Yield wise I also find that if a recipe is intended to yield 12 regular sized muffins I get 6 muffin tops with large crowns.
Overall, this is a great pan. It produces muffin tops just like you would find in a coffee shop and stands up even to frequent use and washing in the dishwasher.
Customer Review: Great for Buns Too! Summary: 5 Stars
I am a yeast bread and bun baker at heart and have been looking for a pan to use for hamburger buns. Sure I love making muffin tops with the grandkids and watch them decorate away afterwards and this pan is TERRIFIC for that .... nothing ever sticks PERIOD!
But my passion is bread and bun baking some with very slack dough so I was interested to see how this pan would perform for buns. In short it is FABULOUS! The slight indentation designed for the muffin tops provides just enough form so that your buns will rise nicely and keep their shape. I am going to order another so I can bake a dozen at a time.
This is a typical Chicago Metallic product, very high quality. I own a number of their pans and roll sheets and have never been disappointed. They may be slightly more money than others but they outshine anything out there and are well worth the extra.
Highly recommended.

I just received these, and they're SO NICE!! I've been waiting to buy some of these types of pans for a loooong time! I am so glad I waited!
*~QUALITY = Heavy Duty, yet light weight & non-stick! YAY!
*~SIZE = HUGE & SQUATTY! These are TEXAS size muffin-tops!!
*~DEAL = You should get them on the 4-for-3 deal! These are nice pans, and I wouldn't have been able to buy as many if they weren't on special!
Bottom line is.., if you're hanker'n for some scrumptious muffin-tops, then look no further! Great recipe on the back of the cardboard label. You DO adjust temp., & time, but that's no big deal! There's a learning curve with everything! I am so glad I picked these ones! I just can't say enough about them! Although, you probably think I've said enough, already! ;0) Enjoy!
Customer Review: Way better than silicone Summary: 5 Stars
I am a huge fan of Vitatops, but paying the high price for the already made muffins to my house was getting pricey. They sell the mix, but they were sold out of the silicone muffin top pans. I have full size silicone muffin pans I received as a gift that not only leave a crumbly mess as they are far from non-stick. Even worse, they also leach an odd flavor into the muffins. I don't feel that they're safe. So I decided to try this nonstick metal version, and my only regret is not buying two so I could bake the whole mix at once. This pan if really top quality. The muffins simply lift right out of the pan with no loosening required. All of the muffins come out evenly cooked. I've tried it with other muffin mixes, and everything has been perfect. This is a great pan.
Customer Review: Add My Voice to the Chorus: 5 Stars! Summary: 5 Stars
Great muffin-top pan--not too heavy, not too light, and I agree with other reviewers that the non-stick coating on this pan is superb.
These are TERRIFIC for baking low-carb treats, which tend to be heavy and much too dry if baked in conventional muffin pans. My husband loves a certain low-carb muffin I make with Almond Meal that serves as the base for a homemade low-carb strawberry shortcake, and the muffin-top pan is the only way to go--texture is great, the muffin retains more moisture yet is fully baked and delicious!
These pans are a MUST for tasty low-carb baking & they make for fabulously moist, perfect muffin tops for conventional bakers as well (like a carrot cake muffin top with cream cheese icing--yum!) Bring on the coffee!
