Customer Review: Really Handy Little Knife

I originally got this knife as a freebie with a knife block set. At first I thought it was going to be useless, it was so tiny. I started using it when my favorite knife was being used for something else and I came to love this little knife. It's little, it's handy, it's very maneuverable. Perfect for a lot of small tasks like chopping olives, cutting the greens off strawberries, removing membranes from green peppers, or cutting bad spots out of vegetables. Fine for slicing smaller items like cucumbers, carrots, etc. Great for lopping things out in the garden--harvesting herbs or zucchini, for example, or cutting flowers. I didn't know how much I had come to like this knife till it disappeared. I can only imagine that it accidentally went in the trash and I could not rest till I replaced it.
My very favorite knife is a 20-year-old Old Hickory paring knife that is all pitted and jagged but still beats all the competition. I have bought several knives over the years, thinking the Old Hickory would have to be retired, but nothing ever came close so I just keep sharpening and using it. The Chicago Cutlery 2.75-inch cannot replace it simply because it's too small to be all-purpose, but it's the only knife I've bought that can hold a candle to the Old Hickory.
