Customer Review: Sharp, cheap, but not pretty

None of your snobbish friends are going to be impressed with this knife set, but I have to say, these things will cut stuff up. I agree with other reviewers that this is one of those "best buy" type of products. They're nto fancy, they don't have the "right" brand, and frankly the blades look kind of skinny and wimpy, but the performance of these knives is just great. I have not owned them long enough to know how long they will hold an edge, or what kind of trouble it will be to keep them sharp, but my first impression is that at this price, this is a very, very good, utilitarian set of blades for the kitchen. This is the first set of "stamped" (skinny) knives I've used, and I can tell you that the whole argument that a quality knife has to have a lot of "heft" may very well be advertising hype.
