I just installed this and put my knives on, so I guess I'm not quite the expert. It was very easy to install and seems very sturdy. Before I put my knives on, I really pulled on it and it wouldn't budge. I put a longer screw into a stud on one side, and the other side just has the screw it came with. I was able to fit an 8-inch chef's knife, 10 1/2-inch bread knife, 7-inch santoku knife, cheese knife, my sharpening steel, and my kitchen scissors. I'm ordering another one right now because I have a strong urge to hang all my utensils up!Customer Review: Great, but measurements are wrong.

The knife rack works perfectly. I have all of my knives, including a cleaver and chefs knife, on it. No problems at all. It looks and works great. Two caveats though. The rack is actually only 14", not 15". Also, it would be great if they would include a template for where to drill the holes to mount it. There are no directions at all, but it's pretty obvious what you have to do to mount it. A template would keep you from having to measure a half dozen times so you can be careful not to put extra holes in your kitchen.Customer Review: Super Item

I love these magnetic knife holders by Chicago Cutlery. We mounted them on the side of a cabinet and it freed up space on my counter top where I had had a big knife block. It also allowed me to get any sharp extra knives out of the drawers. The magnet on them is very strong but not so strong that it causes issues with removing the knives for use. I highly recommend this product. I have never has an issue with any of the Chicago Cutlery products. i have not used this item; it arrived today. I am giving it 3 stars because there are no mounting instructions. I checked the company website to see if instructions were available there and found that the cost of the item, directly from Chicago Cutlery, is $12.99 not the $21. charged by Amazon. With shipping, the item would have cost $20.72. I am beginning to believe that it is necessary to check manufacture's prices before ordering from Amazon, as this is the second time I have found Amazon's price to be higher.Customer Review: Sturdy, Affordable Knife Magnet

We installed two of these over the counter to store a wide selection of knives -- paring through cleaver -- and it holds everything quite sturdily. The magnet runs the length of the strip, with no 'weak' spots (a problem with a similar Ikea product that had gaps in between magnets). My only concern is the possibility of the plastic brackets that the strip snaps onto wearing out over time, but as we won't be popping the strip off and on this hopefully won't be a problem
