Makes the freshest-tasting coffee, no clouding, no grounds. Years ago in college I bought a chemex beakerand I've had them on and off ever since. After years of experimenting with French press, melitta, espresso machines, etc, I always come back. Yesterday I broke the top part (sheer carelessness) and immediately went to the computer to find a replacement beaker. This morning I looked at the Mr. Coffee machine --- and went into the garbage bag to retrieve the remains of the chemex. Yes, I made cofee today with 1/2 the bell missing. It was great.

For those who like a low tech, direct approach nothing beats a Chemex coffee making system. It couldn't be more simple: pour the ground coffee into the filter at the top, then pour the hot water in afterwards. When the brewing is done, toss the grounds and filter and pour the coffee.
