Customer Review: Palm Protection OK - No Protection for Back and Sides of Hand

The palm of this glove does provide protection against a hot pan, however the material of which the rest of the glove is made provides little or no protection for the rest of your hand. This lack of protection means bumping against an oven rack or anything else can cause a burn. This is not the level of protection I expect for kitchen work.
Furthermore the bottom of the glove is very narrow which makes donning the gloves difficult.

I own 3 of these! The first was a gift and the "brand name" that is best known. These are EXACTLY the same and less expensive! I bought the second 2 gloves because I am an artist who does hot glass kiln-work... namely, I work with extremely high heat. These are better than the gloves available through the glass distributors supposedly designed for high heat kiln work. I highly recommend these!Customer Review: safety first

they are awesome!! I can use it easily when I cook and it's a glove so you can still do many of the tasks you need to while cooking. I haven't yet "tested" it while doing tasks around an open flame yet but they seem to provide protection for doing quick tasks maybe not to adjust the coals or briquettes in a BBQ.Customer Review: Works well

fits my hand and my husbands so it's nice for any size hand. It keeps you from burning and does it's job well. Only negative is it's hard to wash. It turns all inside out during wash and is hard to reassemble.
