This is definitely one of those indispensable items you seem to always find new uses for. The product description is a little vague in the title. The turner portion is not actually silicone, it's nylon. The handle is what is silicone. However the nylon is resistant to temperatures up to 400 degrees which is plenty for most range top cooking.
That said, I would not trade this utensil for any other turner. It's thin edge and flexibility fills a void in my kitchen drawer left by the other turners I own. Crepes and Eggs no longer mock me as I turn them with ease. The turner also feels very agile when turning larger things as well, using more of a prying motion to flip things rather than picking them up. The turner also doesn't scratch up non-stick surfaces, and the handle stays cool even when rested on the lip of a hot pan. The rounded corner on the right side of the turner is excellent for getting into the curved surface of a frying pan to toss around scrambled eggs or crumbled sausage.
The back end of the turner doubles as a spatula/scraper thing, but really I haven't found much use for it other than wiggling it at my wife to make her giggle.
