Customer Review: I'm disappointed- but it does slice strawberries

I purchased this item with the hopes that I'd be able to slice almost anything smaller than a small apple. Like lemons with the ends already sliced off or hard boiled eggs. Unfortunately it really won't slice anything larger than a large strawberry- and even some large strawberries can be too large to use this with. I still give it 4 stars because this item is only advertised as a strawberry slicer, so it's not fair to review it based on cutting anything other than stawberries. I took off a star only because it it could be a little larger for those larger strawberries. If they made the place to put the fruit in much larger and the blades a little sharper it would be a truly multifunctional kitchen tool, but alas it is not. Unless all you ever slice is strawberries, you will need to purchase a separate slicer for larger items like eggs and such. In retrospect I probably would've purchased the norpro egg slicer instead which I've borrowed from my neighbor to slice everything from eggs to strawberries with; but that's not to say that this is a bad product. If you're looking to have a separate slicer for just strawberries or for smaller food items I recommend this tool. This slicer is also more attractive than most which is a nice added touch.
