I bought this as a Christmas present for my wife. She made pizzelles years ago and was initially thrilled. But when she saw the small size of the cookies, her disappointment was clear. We never even plugged it in. I don't disputed the performance other reviewers claimed. But, we got the Villaware pizzelle iron instead and found this traditional size better suited to both standard cookies as well as filled cookies, ice cream cups, etc. that my wife likes to make. It also cooks faster than the Chef's Choice literature claims.
Before you buy, be sure you realize how small the cookies this iron makes are. They just aren't suitable for some traditional pizzelle uses

I bought this to make pizzelles for a travel program I was doing on Italy. The pizzelles came out nicely and were good. I used one of the recipes that came with the baker. Be sure to use the small measuring spoon that comes with it--it does give you the right amount for each pizzelle--even so, some of mine were ragged--but that just confirmed that they were homemade. Cooks fast and evenly. You are warned in the accompanying literature to be careful that the top of the baker will get hot--it does! Guess how I know that? I would buy this maker again--I'm pleased with it.Customer Review: Great addition to any kitchen

The pizzelle maker is the best one on the market, I am a Home Economist,catering etc...and found this one easy to use, cleans fast, recipes are great, anyone can make them... The control light goes on and off and the browning control by numbers is easy to use..I made vanilla, anise and chocolate ones, canoli's , and ice cream cones for the little kids....buy it and use it at your next party ....This item will be used as often as yuor mixer, blender or food processor or even more...don't hesitate, ot buy this one, the price is the best one I have foundCustomer Review: love it

I love this pizzelle maker. The recipe for a basic pizzelle is wonderful and easily adapted to various flavors. The pizzelles slide off with no problem and you can make dozens in no time. It is a snap to clean up and easy to store. I am worried about the cord though. The design has it winding around a channel in the bottom of the maker in a curved pattern. I don't know if the casing on the wire will hold up so I'm leaving the cord unwound. We received the Chef's Choice 835 Pizzelle Pro Express Bake appliance a few days before Christmas. Instructions are easily followed, and we were making pizzelles within 15 minutes. We made pizzelles on 2 consecutive nights for a total of 15 dozen, in a total of about 4 hours. The appliance produces excellent pizzelles reliably, it's simple to operate, and it's easily cleaned. It stores vertically with its own cord storage well, taking up little storage space. Just remember to avoid touching its metal surfaces while using it.
