Customer Review: too many unacceptable issues

I've been using electric kettles for over 20 years. I use it all day long, probably heating it 20+ times in a day, adding hot water to my perpetual Tervis tumbler of tea. Have used three brands, and 5 models - Rival, Cusinart, mostly Braun. They typically last about three years under these conditions.
With the recent health issues of plastic, and the failure of our 3 year old Braun, we bought this Chef's Choice 678 because it has very little to no plastic, and claimed technology that eliminates build-up of mineral deposits.
Well, this is the worst pot I've ever used. I've ordered another brand (Breville) and will be returning this one.
First MAJOR problem is that it is VERY VERY VERY LOUD!! I can't stand to be in the same room with it! You can hear it heating from outside our house. There is no way to hear people speaking, the TV/Radio/Zune or the telephone ringing while it is heating. It's louder than the blender, food processor or coffee grinder, all of which you can't even hear when this pot is heating.
Second issue is that it weighs about 8 pounds when filled to the maximum line. Twice as much as the other electric kettles we've used and it makes it difficult to lift it off the very high base connector fitting.
Third issue, after only 10 days, the pot is full of scale. I use a MultiPure water filter. In addition to large amounts of free floating scale, the inside is already corroded with scale build up on the walls. The opening is so small I will need to buy a special tool/brush to clean it adequately. Scale was only a minor problem with the other (plastic) brands and was quickly and easily remedied by heating a pot of vinegar solution. Not sure if I can do that in this pot, as it has a tube inside it.
Fourth problem is condensation or leaks(??). Every morning there are pools of water on the counter, and under the bottom of the pot on the base. Even if I leave the pot off the base, water is under the pot in the morning. There are already rust spots forming underneath.
Fifth concern is that the water level indicator window gets steamed and stays that way for hours and is completely impossible to see when you are holding it under a faucet to fill it as it is under/behind the handle.
It does get very hot and really could burn you badly, but I figured that it would since it IS metal.
We did not notice any metallic taste or smell.
It heats rather slowly compared to other brands and since it sounds like a freight train, even an extra minute is WAY too long.
I'll be sure to review it's replacement, and I hope this review warns users of these major concerns I have experienced.

We started noticing pools of water under the pot, on the base and on the counter every morning and sometimes during the day we would notice small pools under the pot.
Well, this morning we found the pot empty. The water leaked out all over the counter and under the cabinets. It still works, heats fine and shuts off. The leak - which seems to come out of all the holes in the bottom of the pot and from around the overlap at the bottom edge - is slow but as soon as our new pot arrives (today - I hope!!)this one goes back!!
