I've had this coffee grinder for a while now... over a year. Never had a single problem with it. Grinds as well today as it did the first day. I've experimented with all sorts of beans from all kinds of companies all over the world. Fresh and easy to make coffee every single morning. It's one of those items that is a truly good buy if you're looking for a coffee grinder. Do not get one of those blade grinders - inconsistent, cheap, and unreliable. We typically brew a pot of coffee a day and grind more than half of it at the store before we bring it home. For the coffee beans that we brought home we used the Capresso 555.01 Burr Grinder.
This morning as I was using the 555.01 one of the metal blades that grinds the coffee broke off rendering the machine useless. Wouldn't you know it comes with a twelve month warranty so we're SOL. I would avoid this grinder and find something that is better made.

I love coffee, but I am also VERY fussy about it. I got this as a gift for Christmas, probably ordered from my Amazon Wish list. The portion control never worked properly, and it has only gotten worse. The gradient control also doesn't work well, either. I have repeatedly tried to contact Capresso for assistnce but have gotten no reply. It is unlikely I will purchase another Capresso product in the near future.Customer Review: What's a little static when you have a perfect grind?

I do agree with the fact that burr grinders create statically charged grounds. But I found that if I hold the lid on while tapping the container so the grounds empty out the hole at the top, they pour out nicely. Open up the top and some fly out in all directions. If you think you will want to make it sparkling clean after each use, it may be a pain. For the price this is a great grinder for home use.Customer Review: Nice Grind But A Wee Bit Messy

The portion control feature doesn't do much for me, but the grind control is excellent. It's easy to clean and that's a good feature because this grinder does seem to "leak" ground coffee more than others I've used. A bit of a quibble, given the quality of the results. If I was more patient I could probably get the portion control feature to work well - it does seem like a good idea.
