Customer Review: I would give it less than one star, but that is not an option

I purchased this grinder May 31, and gave it as a gift June 11 of 2005. As of July 18, 2005 the machine no longer works. It was typically on a '6' grind setting, the little brush was used faithfully to clean the output area and the top part of the burr to keep it from getting clogged. The thing just plain old stopped working for no apparent reason. With just over 30 days of service (less a week of being on vacation). I don't care if the thing turns out grounds that are better than gold, if it doesn't work, and breaks that quickly after meticulous care...what kind of P.O.S**t is it? It will go back, and be replaced with the same because its under warranty. If it actually works beyond 30 days I'll revise my review..but for now ...what a freaking waste of your money.Customer Review: 4 years and going strong!

Excellent quality - four years of daily use and still works as advertised. Consistent grind - EVERY time. Static no longer a problem after learning what to do. Grind and then WAIT 10-20 seconds (I use the time to get my coffeemaker ready with filter, water etc.) Tap once or twice on the receptacle with knuckles before removing, and coffee comes out perfectly.
Tap on edge of coffee maker when dumping the grinds in if needed. If receptacle is placed in grinder correctly and you haven't let a lot of grinds build up around the mouth of the grinder the seal is fine, and this eliminates all of the messy grinds coming out while grinding. I have virtually NO grinds come out around the receptacle when everything is reasonably clean. Wish all my purchases worked as good!

This burr grinder works great. If you take the grind container and put the filter over it (#4 cone filters fit nicely), then turn the container and filter over together, NO COFFEE GROUNDS END UP ON YOUR COUNTER!It does take a few steps to clean afterwards (why I took away 1 star), but it's worth the trouble for the perfectly ground coffee.
It IS curious that noone has come up with a static resistant plastic or coating for these types of applications, but I am hoping that when the weather gets more humid, the static will reduce. But either way - I have used this grinder 5 times, and only once did I get ANY grounds on my counter - and that was because I didn't read the directions first. Highly recommended.

i researched way too many grinders and finally settled on this one. yes it is noisy. yes there are some beans that make it around the counter. yes it can be a pain to clean inside the grinder area. but the bottom line here is that since i purchased this little guy I have been enjoying the best coffee of my life. I have a drip coffee maker and an espresso machine and after a little experimenting I discovered what my "perfect number" was for each of them. I love the auto measure feature of this and have bought an extra one just in case mine breaks. I have had no trouble at all in the last 4 months I have had this and I use it every day at least once usually twice. HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDCustomer Review: Excellent Coffee, Excellent Grinder

I recently purchased this grinder. Yes, as others have said grinding coffee is a messy business, but there is not a coffee grinder I know of that doesn't need cleaned. This one disassembles easily for a thorough cleaning. If this machine is used as instructed there is no mess other than in the machine. Selecting the 4 setting makes coffee that is smooth and mellow, just the way I like it. Turning the bean container six clicks allows the perfect amount of coffee to be ground for a 12 cup pot. I've now had four pots of the best coffee I've ever made.
