My Third Capresso automatic coffee maker. I like the swing basket design a little better.
The Good....Makes very very good coffee if you are making a full pot with medium to light grind and you like a course grind. esthetically pleasing. takes less counter space than the previous model
The Bad.....If you like a a darker roast then the grounds tend to get stuck a little in the discharge chute. If you like to make one or two cups the new flat bottom design does not do as good a job as the previous models' cone basket. There have been many reports of coffee not being contained while brewing and running all over the counter. I too experienced this as well until I determined that glass carafe needs to be pulled to the front part of burner when brewing to totally avoid this problem. After six months of brewing 4-5 pots a day, the coffee pot no longer drips; I can hear a click where it should start but alas the water just sits there. With the new design I can't even pour hot water manually over the grounds. I can't wait to get my replacement

I have been using Capresso coffeemakers for 10 years. My first two were the kind where the filter basket swings back and forth - the 454 which is no longer made. I loved these machines. They each lasted 4 - 5 years. When the more recent one started leaking all over the counter, I replaced it with this new 464.05. Even though I have it set to the coarsest grind, it grinds the coffee so fine that the last two cups are undrinkable because of the amount of sediment - it is like mud. Capresso Customer Service call number one resulted in them sending me replacement parts for the bottom of the filter basket. This did not help, but the gentlemen was quite pleasant. The second Customer Service call leaves me not wanting another Capresso coffeemaker ever - the woman was rude and just kept repeating herself over and over: "using the the gold tone filter results in sediment". Well ok, but if using this filter (that comes with the machine) results in undrinkable coffee, something is wrong with the machine. Ok, wow. I've had this home coffee station for a month now. No negatives so far, and here are the positives:
Grinder is quiet and so far, no clogs in the delivery chute. Unlike other machines I've owned, no issue with dark or oily beans clogging up the chute. Coffee is H..O..T hot! Unlike so many of the home brewing stations, this one really delivers a hot cup of coffee. I've actually scalded myself a few times and that's a good thing! The settings on this machine are so versatile that you can make your brew light to strong with a simple push of a button. It's a breeze to clean up too.
I'm a coffee snob. I buy only custom-roasted coffee - have for years. I like my coffee dark, strong and full of flavor. My better half will tell you that I have been in search for the perfect home brewer for years and I usually buy a new machine about twice a year, if not more. Well I think I'm in coffee love with the Capresso. I can't imagine finding a better machine anywhere, and trust me, I've tried all the high-end home brewers.

I have been a Capresso user for quite a few years. The CoffeeTeam GS makes great coffee. Unfortunately, it has a defective clock. Runs fast about 10-20 minutes per day. This is a real problem when you want to have it brew a pot of coffee automatically. It also affects the amount of time that the unit keeps the coffee warm. I am currently on my second replacement unit and this one has a clock issue as well. That is 2 for 2. You will see other review for this unit having a faulty clock. It is pretty obvious that they know about this problem. The vendor wants me to ship it back to them so they can take a look at it. What amounts to is coffee withdrawal for 2+ weeks as that is how long the unit will be gone. Since this unit is less than 8 months old, and the previous unit even newer, I would say that is very poor customer service. They did send out a replacement on the first faulty unit, but flat refused on the second unit.
I will give the Cuisinart a shot. Maybe they care about their customers. Capresso obviously does not.

I had a previous version of this machine with the swing out filter basket for about 2 years. It suddenly gave out. It was good, but the coffee chute continually clogged. I use dark French Roast, and the beans are oily (I get up oily in the morning :) ). So I left the slot cover open and dealt with it. I read a lot of the comments here, and was a bit hesitant, but finally bit bought the item. Here are my observations comparing this with the old machine, which I liked.
1. The grinding noise is no where near as loud as the higher pitched whine of the old machine, but runs 25-30% longer.
2. Based on info in the reviews, I put the grind size to the middle, and no clogging.
3. Have set full aroma, 10 cups, pour in 6 cups of water. Excellent STRONG coffee. I drink it black.
4. More noise as it fills carafe, like a loud snap crackle pop. Big deal.
5. No swing out filter, no coffee grounds on counter.
6. Overall aesthetics are great. Really like the machine.
