I bought this coffemaker around a year ago...it was by far one of the best purchases I've made! It's simple to use and makes a fantastic pot of coffee that will, in all seriousness, stay piping hot for over 4-5 hours. I've had my coffee in the morning before work and have come home hours later and it's still hot. What really did it for me was the superior customer service--I had run out of filters and my sister used a napkin filter which clogged up my machine. I called Capresso, and they sent me a new unit within 5 days, with a prepaid return label for my unit. Amazing!! I'll never ever buy another brand again!!

I was skeptical after reading some reviews that the coffee would not be hot/stay hot. Got it today for the office -- coffee was scalding initially; 3 hours later still too hot to drink black. I love the fact that I can remove the water container and fill at the water cooler for truly clean water (it does come with a filter, but that's superfluous here). Cleanup? What cleanup? Rinse the gold filter, rinse the carafe, and you're done!

... But it was so worth it! My roommate had one of these and when he left and took it with him, it was a "must-replace" item. We use the automatic timer feature often. And thermal carafe is absolutely perfect for our household -- where everyone is on a differen a.m. schedule. If that's you, too, then this machine will save you time, effort, and coffee beans without sacraficing the flavor!

Customer Review: Good coffee, but mechanical problems

I loved this coffee pot at first. But after some time, it became irretrievably stained. And the clock stopped working--it ran fast continuously, making it impossible to know the time or use the timer to make your coffee in advance. It still made great coffee, but overall I was annoyed by all of the problems.
