My long-time desire to own a pink tea kettle has led me to overlook the potential of inconvenience on a gas stove. While I can certainly still use this tea kettle, it can only be on a reduced flame, and it takes much longer to boil the water than usual. Also, trying to open the "whistling" part of the tea kettle led the little doohickey on the top to snap off. This is after I had to send back my first tea kettle for arriving chipped.
It is a perfectly usable kettle. The laws of thermodynamics do, in fact, still apply within it, and it is, in fact, a pink tea kettle. I just wish I had read up on the particulars a little bit better before biting the bullet and purchasing the kettle. As cute as it is, I may just stick with the old standby of water + small pot.
