Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Calphalon Triply Stainless 2-1/2-Quart Shallow Saucepan with Glass LidCustomer Review: As close to perfect as I've found. Summary: 5 Stars
This pan rocks!! Top quality construction, see through lid, stay cool handle; what's not to like? The shallow design, making the pan wider than any other of this capacity has me using this to saute veggies, etc. far more frequently than I do in either of my smaller "saute" pans. The only pan I own that gets more use than this and my Calphalon non-stick chef's pan is my trusty 12" cast iron skillet.
Customer Review: Great Sauce Pan Summary: 5 Stars
I love to cook, and own several different brands of cookware, All Clad, Cuisinart, and Calaphone. This sauce pan didn't disappoint me. I love it!! The pan has a wider bottom than most 2 or 2 1/2 quart pans. This is great if you need to saute onions or peppers at the beginning of a sauce, or if you need a little extra room to stir something. I am very, very happy with this.
Customer Review: Excellent Saucepan Summary: 5 Stars
The Calphalon Triply 2-1/2 qt. Saucepan is an excellent addition to my cookware. It heats almost instantly; you can tell when it's ready by touching the rim of the pan. It heats evenly on my electric range. It will keep food warm on a low setting without any burning or hot spots. Clean-up is so easy in the sink that I don't bother to put it in the dishwasher. Great value!
Customer Review: sturdy saucepan, but lid handle gets hot Summary: 4 Stars
This is a great saucepan. I bought it when the plastic handle on my cheap saucepan had a crack along the entire length. I have the calphalon nonstick work with the same type of handle, so I thought I'd get the saucepan with the same type of handle. The only problem is that when I make soups, the lid handle gets very hot that it requires an oven mitt to take the lid off.
Customer Review: Well Worth the cost Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this pan just to make rice but since it's a tri-ply you can do so much more with it. brown meats, onions, garlic anything right in the pan which save you having to use a fry pan. The shallow size works out fine and even better for reducing sauces than the regular size 2 1/2 quart sauce pan. Well worth the the cost, so much you can call it a steal!
