This is an excellent deal for a very versatile pan. It's good looking, heats very evenly and doesn't stick or create little burned patches like the cheaper stainless steel stuff will. I've used it to make risotto, pasta sauces, Thai curries, stews, beans, chili and even rice(for 2-4 people) and it heats up very quickly and cooks evenly, nothing sticks and everything comes out picture perfect - just remember to heat up the pan before adding fat to avoid sticking. The glass lid is good for monitoring the progress of rice and covered stews even though it does fog up, and the lid is really tight and retains moisture beautifully. The handle stays comfortably cool too. As a bonus the pan cleans up almost as easily as a nonstick one. This will spoil you for regular stainless steel pans or anodized aluminum.Customer Review: This Pot is HOT HOT HOT

I have been shopping around for the best buy on Calphalon for several months. This pan is worth the price and some. It cooks evenly, heats in a jiff. The glass lid is a plus and fits snug on the pot. The handle is sturdy and stays cool. You wont have to worry about it coming off like the cheaper brands. I read other comments about the rivets and cleaning them. That is a small minus when you think about the quality and cooking performance of this cookware line. I have hard anodized and stainless steel pieces all are great. I do advise looking for discount prices. Another great tip is cleaning with the distilled vinegar when the stainless steel gets discolored. This works instantly. Whether you cook a little or alot, gourmet or not, you NEED this pot in your cabinet.Customer Review: I would buy this again

The pan is solid as well as beautiful to look at.
Depending on what you cook in it,it's sometimes not that easy to wash. I'm trying to steer away from Teflon.
Although not quite the quality as All Clad, it's close. And a much better bargain.
For those of you who have to have matching sets of pans I would recommend buying Calaphon Professional or Non-Stick instead.
I prefer the right pan for the job, and I don't think stainless steel or Teflon are good for frying. So I use cast iron for frying, Calaphon Professional for those foods which will stick, and the Calaphon stainless steel soup pot and saucepans for most everything else.

This is a great pan for an amazing price. I like it just as much as my All-Clad pans - it heats evenly and can go in the oven at any temperature (the lid is only to 450 degrees). I also prefer the glass lids to metal, since you can see how the food is doing. Granted, you can't get a perfect view after it steams up, but it's certainly better than no view at all! I have many of the Calphalon Tri Ply pieces, which I bought after a ton of research, and I love them all. BTW, the Tri Ply 12" Everyday Pan is fantastic and is also on a special "collectors" deal for $79.99. It is worth every single penny!!

I ordered this stainless steel pan, as I am gradually replacing my aluminum ones. I was a bit put off when I first opened the box and saw how shallow it was, but have since come to love it for that very thing. There's more pan surface on the burner, so water boils sooner. In general, everything heats up very quickly. The see through lid is great. And it's quite beautiful to look at. Clean up has been a breeze. If it gets a little stained-looking, I use Barkeepers Friend (found in the grocery store), and it comes back like new. I'd recommend this to anybody.
