Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Calphalon Simply Calphalon Nonstick Hard-Anodized Aluminum 11-Inch Square GriddleCustomer Review: My first experience with Calphalon - I'm Hooked! Summary: 5 Stars
We have had many nonstick griddles (buy 1 or 2 every year), but none have compared to this one by Calphalon. I had never purchased any Calphalon pieces before because I felt we were too hard on our cookware to justify spending the extra money. It remains to be seen if this holds up better than the other griddles we've had in the past, but right off the bat I can tell you it is superior in most ways. Excellent weight and balance, with a superior nonstick finish. And it cooks evenly. And best of all, here on Amazon, it cost no more than the other brands we had bought at the "Super" Retailer. I just wish I could find a 12" skillet in the same price range now....:)
Customer Review: Great Griddle Summary: 5 Stars
So far so good with this griddle. I've used it a few times and it cooks and cleans up well. The only thing in cooking with it is that I found it cooks faster in the center bc of the circle coil and the edges are less brown...
must be out of the direct range of the heat? Also, on the amazon description, it stated that it wasn't recommended for glass top stoves but in the caphalon care booklet it said otherwise. I'm using on my new glass top stove and it seems fine.
Any ideas or experiences with why it wouldn't be recommended for a glass top stove?
Customer Review: This is Not the Greatest........ Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this remembering the reviews were so good but now I see that it was the other Calphalon griddle pan that had the great reviews. This pan has a nice sturdy feel to it but my biggest complaint is that it wobbles in my smooth top range. It cooked the eggs just fine with no sticking but I couldn't get past the wobbling. This one is going back. This pan might be good for other types of ranges, maybe gas or electric but not for smooth top ranges where you need the pan to be perfectly flat. Too bad--the price is right.
Customer Review: non-stick...for a while, anyway Summary: 4 Stars
I bought one of these several years ago (4?). It sees regular use at the family quesadilla pan. Does pancakes, grilled cheese, you name it. Bacon can be a challenge due to the low sides.
Like some things in life, the "Non-stick" seems to be a warm memory. I have not had any balance issues with mine.
I just wish the thing performed like it did when newer. Is it worth the money? I sure think so, that's why I'm buying another. The old one will be relegated to less likely to stick foods.
Customer Review: Wobler Summary: 2 Stars
I was excited, at first, to get this griddle. I read many great reviews. However, it is very sensitive to heat. After only three (3) uses, the griddle is warped and no longer sits flat on my solid surface electric cook top. Now it is pretty much useless.
I did not overheat the griddle. It was used on heat settings medium and lower.
If you choose to get this griddle, use only LOW heat settings. Don't use anything above medium-low.
