Customer Review: It Does More Than Warm Butter!

I just got this for Christmas from my wonderful sister, and I've used it twice already for Christmas dinner. Not only is it the perfect size for "warming butter", but it's also perfect for other small epicurean tasks (glaze for the Christmas ham, for example). The only thing I don't like, in spite of its design, is it does not pour very well. But despite that small flaw, I love it and will defintely use it alot.

Calphalon Professional Hard-Anodized Butter WarmerAt 4-3/4 inches in diameter and 2-1/4 inches deep, this straight-sided, 2-cup pan is designed specifically to clarify butter. But it's useful for making small amounts of sauces, also. Spouts on either side permit right- or left-handed pouring. Though it's not nonstick like some Calphalon cookware, the warmer is anodized for stick-resistance as well as hardness. Metal utensils won't harm the surface. For that no-nonsense, commercial-kitchen look, Calphalon's Professional Hard-Anodized cookware wears a matte finish. Chrome-plated, cast-iron handles are triple-riveted for durability and balance but can require potholders. Holes in the handles facilitate hanging on a hook or peg. Made of heavy-gauge aluminum, the pans heat evenly and quickly, with no hot spots or warping. Hand wash with mild detergent and scour with a plastic or nylon scrubber.
