The waffles cook evenly and are the proper thickness. The waffles do have 25% more holes per unit length (56% more holes total) than a "Brussels" waffle. If that's unacceptable you could buy a Chef's Choice 850-SE WafflePro Belgian Waffle Maker. The Chef's choice makes waffles with less batter and doesn't cook quite as evenly, but it's still pretty good.Customer Review: Not functional after one use

The sound of the timer never worked very well, it was very weak. But I could've lived with that if the thing actually made waffles. What it did was burn them. The second time I used it, the indicator light showed they weren't done and no timer sound went off, yet the waffles were totally burned.
It's going back to the store.

My waffle iron bit the dust so I was looking for a good one to replace it. This one was really disappointing given the brand behind it. The exact same batter in this waffle maker tasted dry. Batter has a tendency to run all over the place, making it a mess. The closure and automatic timer is not great functionality. Save your money.Customer Review: Super!

I bought this for my daughter's family for Christmas. She couldn't wait to call me the next day and tell me how awesome this waffle maker is! She said it makes THE BEST waffles and fast. She said the waffles themselves were larger than what they were used to and everyone had only one (all 4 kids are teenagers). They all loved it!Customer Review: The perfect waffle maker

I am in love with this waffle maker. My old cheap waffle maker died. Am I glad. I studied makers before I bought, got this one, and it has exceeded expectations! Grids never stick. I even have run over the batter, and it doesn't stick to anything. Buy this maker and live happily ever after.
