Customer Review: First Calphalon disappointmen
Summary: 3 Stars

I recently purchased this pan and have used it twice. I am a great fan of Calphalon hard anodized and own several pieces. This pan was my first disappointment. During the second use, I accidently spilled a small amount of oil down the side of the pan. The oil left a permanent ugly stain. I tried everything to get it out without success. It still cooks great but I feel that it is now ruined. I will continue to use it but I am disappointed in it. The pan is great for sauteing small amts of food. If it wasn't for getting this pan at a fantastic price, I would consider mailing it back to Calphalon. The postage to return it would probably cost me more than the pan.

Customer Review: Doesn't get a lot of use . . .
Summary: 3 Stars

I have a few pans in Calphalon's Commercial Hard-Anodized line and I like them very much. I'm not a big fan of non-stick, so unlike some reviewers my issue is not with sticking. While I occasionally grab this pan to toast some nuts or sautee some broccoli rabe, I find I do so when my 10-inch skillet with lid is already in use.

I generally cook for two (but with my partner's appetite it's often like three), and this skillet is just too small for my purposes. It's a nice pan, though, and I would probably love a 4- or 5-quart version. If you often cook for one it may be a good investment, but I wish I had put the money towards a larger pan.

Yes...another confession...In addition to the 8" omelette pan I own this one too...lazy boy, I am.
I like it though, it cooks really well and the clean up is a dream.
I like to use this to "stir fry" small batches of veggies and seafood at home for me and my grrlfren. It tosses nicely.
It looks great, is made very well but requires non-metallic accessories and utensils to preserve it's finish and...hang them up by their pretty little handles 'cause if you stack them in the cupboard they will scratch each other. The extra caution is why this piece only gets...

4 mojo*z!!!

But we really do like it and use it a lot

Customer Review: Perfect Pan
Summary: 2 Stars

Have used this pan almost every day for the past three years. Have not found a reasonable task it is not able to handle well. Heats evenly, handles stir-fry easily. The deep sides keep splatters in the pan and the handle stays cool to the touch. It is not a high volume cooking utensil, but for the chef who likes stove top meal preperation for 2-4 diners it more than holds it's own. It rarely leaves my range top. The pan has held up well and still looks fairly new. It cleans up with little effort. I don't recall the exact price I paid for it, (around $50)but I am ordering another one at this $20 price. If one is perfect, two should be doubly so.

Customer Review: nice, but not the best
Summary: 3 Stars

First of all I think this is a beautiful pan. I wish they would make this same look with the non-stick though. I have some Analon, which is non-stick, and it works very well. I was a little dissappointed with this pan. The first time I used it I made omelettes and they did stick. It cleaned up okay with a scotch-brite pad, but was definitely not non-stick. I have also used it to brown hamburger and that seemed to work fine. I was surprised at how much could actually fit in the pan. I browned 1 1/2 pounds of meat and added sloppy joe sauce. It was a tight fit for that much meat, but it did work. For the price though it was a good buy.
