Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Calphalon Commercial Hard-Anodized 8-1/2-Quart Saucier with LidCustomer Review: EXCELLENT PRODUCT !!! Summary: 5 Stars
This saucier pot is excellent and the hard-Anodized is fast to cook !!!
The size is perfect i can cook enough food !! Because in this country the cookware sets doesn't comes with big pot, only small pans and pots for small portions and always i need 2 pots in the same time and cooking the same thing!
I like to make SANCOCHO like green plantain soup and i need enough space to put water, spices, green plantains, yuca, beef or chicken to mix and using small cookware set pots is terrible splash everywhere!!
The only thing to keep the original color and texture after each use don't put in cold water or dishwasher because is hot and if you do that the pot change the color with stain all over the hard Anodized need care and also the nonstick has longer life if after each use do not put in cold water.
Buy is good pot and fit perfect on the burner.
Customer Review: Love this pan! I bought a second one! Summary: 5 Stars
My husband and I like this pan so much we decided to buy a second one. Hey,if the pan gets your spouse to cook more-- what else can you ask from your cookware? For the price, you absolutely can't beat it! One of the most important features is that it is NOT non-stick. (We'll never buy a non-stick pan again-- we have thrown too many of them away, since the coatings eventually come off! With all of the research that indicates those coatings are bad for you--who wants to eat that stuff!) We like the fact that we can cook meat with bones or use metal utensils in the pan. The pan entirely covers the largest burner on our stove, and it is easily centered in the oven since there is no long handle that gets in the way. And even if we get a pretty good "crust" on the bottom of the pan sometimes, the pan comes clean very easily. We were amazed.
Customer Review: You will not believe how great this pot is !! Summary: 5 Stars
I have been buying quality cookware from Amazon for years and this is the first time I felt compelled to write a reveiw. This has become one of the most used pots in my arsenal. Yes, it is large, but so what. You don't need to fill it to the top when you cook. I find this pot more useful than a 5-1/2 qt. shallow saute pan, or 12 inch every day pan. This pot has the same 12 inch diameter, but taller sides so you have all that great cooking surface with no spatter. I don't have a giant professional stove, far from it, I have an ancient range that is 60 years old. This pot does extend beyond the burner a little bit, but it does not hamper my ability to use the other burners on the stove at the same time. I would imagine this may be a problem for apartment sized ranges, but not the standard sized cooktop. Buy this pot before they are all gone.
Customer Review: SOMETHING IS STEWING IN THIS POT! Summary: 5 Stars
I couldn't believe the price....At half the regular price this pot is a steal, but at this price, it is quite simply a must-have.
As a culinary historian I try out and test dozens of antique recipes, ranging from buffalo stew to grizzly pot roast... this is the perfect stew pot to cook a large dinner with. You know the saying..."A one-dish meal?" Well this pot is the one to use to creat a souper masterpiece. It has an comfortable weight and distributes heat evenly. The pan surface is large enough to sear meat in without splatters of fat/oil popping out to burn you. The lid stays put. Overall, it is durable and a very servicable all-purpose stock/stew/roasting pot. Yes, you should handwash it, but that really is not so much of a drawback when you consider the excellent quality, especially at this discounted price.
Customer Review: Excellent Summary: 5 Stars
I love this pot! I can do anything with it. It's size could be a pain to store, but you'll find yourself using it so much, that it will stay on your stovetop permanently..as mine does. One of the best things about it is it's width. You can drop a whoile box of spaghetti, linguine. fettucine, or any other long pasta, into it, and you never have to sit and stir until it bends to fit the pot! Just one quick stir to separate the pasta, and you're done! Not to mention the amount of food I can cook in it. Stews, sauces, etc..you'll never have an overflow :) The only slight problem I did have with it was when I seared some steaks in it. Even though I washed it with a mild dishsoap right afterwards, the stain from the seared steaks never came off. That's the only caveat I have. Has anyone had this problem?
