Customer Review: An entire waffle in one piece, is that too much to ask???
Summary: 1 Stars

We purchased this waffle maker 1 year and 3 months ago. We have used it just about every weekend (that we were home) for breakfast. It has been a true challenge! After a year, I finally have found the right temperature, cooking spray and batter consistency to make a waffle that I don't have to pry out of the waffle maker in pieces....at least almost all the time. Every other waffle was always in pieces. So frustrating! Last weekend, we were making the second waffle and whal-la! The handle broke right off and the waffle maker has found it's way into the trash...since the warranty was only good for 1 yr and the store we bought it from went out of business. Believe me....we won't buy another one to replace it!
A family member tells me she owns an Oster Waffle Maker, It's cheaper, and it works everytime, flawlessly. AND...it doesn't have a teflon surface like the Bella Cucina did. How can a waffle stick to a teflon surface?...that may be a question I'll never have an answer to!
Waffle-less in New York!

Customer Review: Excellent for a while

We absolutely adored this waffle iron for the year that it worked. There is one plastic piece that constantly gave me fits when trying rotate the waffle back around for removal (even when I just cooked half a waffle). Eventually the part broke off, locking in my waffle. This was nasty, as it had bananas and chocolate chips in it (they are very sticky, you know). I really liked the iron and endured through the cleaning process, but was not able to get out the next (plain) waffle, either.
I could not find my booklet at the time, so I went to the website for a customer service number. That number (and the web)was only for their regular, high-end culinary delights. The lady I spoke with was most polite. No one ever actually answered the phone at the number she gave me for my appliance.

Customer Review: Worked well...while it lasted
Summary: 2 Stars

We bought this waffle maker about a year and a half ago. I'd say that in that time we've made waffles no more than a dozen times. Recently when I pulled it out, I had managed to make one waffle successfully and a second was cooking. However, when I rotated the handle back to the open position I heard a crack. As soon as I lifted the handle to open the lid, the handle came of in my hand leaving the waffle to continue to bake with no safe way to get it out. On further inspection I realized that the plastic handle where it attaches to the waffle maker had cracked, not just come apart. It appears to be a cheaply made product so I wouldn't recommend it. It worked well while it lasted, it just didn't last very long.

Customer Review: What A Mess!

Very unstable (even with the feet pulled out). Takes up a lot of space, and you need two people to get the waffle out - in pieces. You have to monitor the cooking cycle constantly - watch for the light to go on, watch for the light to go off, watch for the light to go on....

I'm returning it tomorrow.
