Customer Review: Just right for the job. Bigger than imagined

The main reason I bought this was to motivate my kids to get out the door in the morning. It serves that purpose well. Easy to set and reset. Loud enough beeper. One thing I want to note is that it was hard for me to visualize just how big the product was (even knowing the dimensions), but for its size, the digits appear quite big and easy to read. This was one thing I was looking for and this product has it. Also, it has a clever set of display options designed into the back: it can set upright on a table, hang from a hook or stick with a magnet. Seems well thought out and designed.Customer Review: Magnet could be much bigger, but perfect timer.

I agree with a few other reviewers, that the magnet is pretty dang small.
I run a letterpress print shop, and can hear this timer go off over my printing machines. I particularly like the fact that the timer, once reaching zero, starts counting upwards until you come shut it off. Lets you know how much over you've been timing.
But the tiny magnet is way too small. I might Gorilla glue a larger magnet on the back.
EDIT: 2 years later, the text is still readable, but the beeper sounds like it's on it's last legs. Great little unit for $7.00

I looked at many diferent timers before purchasing this one. This one is simple to use, is both a count up and count down timer, and can be read from across the room.
Many of the other digital timers have way too many buttons and functions. I just wanted a digital timer that is almost as easy to set and use as the traditional mechanical kitchen timer.
This one has both a strong magnet on the back and a flip out stand. It also has a small hook you can fold out to hang it on a nail.
This is a winner. Simple, cheap, and usefull.

My title says it: this item works very well until you get so much as a drop or two of water on it. It will then cease to work at all. Casual or occasional cooks will probably find this an excellent timer. But if you have an active kitchen, with one or more people cooking at once, and several things being made at once, you will probably find, as I have, that it is impossible to keep the timer absolutely bone-dry. I've gone through three of these. They work well for a time, and then they stop working. Personally, I recommend an old-fashioned mechanical timer.Customer Review: Best Timer Ever Purchased

Over the years, I have had many timers in all price ranges; none have been as nice as this one. It is easy to set, easy to read, easy to carry around! With my advancing age, I need to keep track of time that my memory can not longer help me with, so a portable timer is necessary! I especially use it when I am in the sewing room and have something on the stove, which I have forgotten more than once and burned up a couple of pans. I worry about burning my house down! No more worries now, if I just remember to take this little gem with me. Highly recommended!
