Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of CDN DTQ450X ProAccurate Quick-Read Thermometer

Customer Review: Poor Quality Thermometer
Summary: 1 Stars

Thermometer did not work out of the package. Consistently reads temperatures as 20-40 degrees below actual.

Thermometer also failed to calibrate. When you stick the thermometer in ice water, it reads -24 degrees F and then won't calibrate properly.

Find a different thermometer, unless you feel like rolling dice on quality.

Customer Review: Finally, I found one
Summary: 5 Stars

My wife & I have gone through at least 6 "instant" thermometers. This is without question the best one to date. If it breaks or quits, I will buy another. It really is fast & easy to use. It appears to be very accurate after you go through the setup steps using ice to set the freezing temp. And the battery is already installed! What a deal!

Customer Review: Proaccurate Quick Read Theremometer
Summary: 4 Stars

We are very happy with this thermometer. It is a tad bulkier than our previous thermometer with it's slightly lumpy head - doesn't store as easily in a drawer. We previously had the DT450 which was shaped more like a short carpenter's pencil with a cap-lid. But the DTP450X is just as easy to read and the buttons are simple to operate.

Customer Review: It works; just takes too long for a reading.
Summary: 2 Stars

One Mississippi, two Mississippi, three Mississippi.. still waiting for this thermometer to read. It's an inexpensive thermometer, but if I had to do it again, I would've shelled out more money for a faster reader because it doesn't read quickly as it's indicated in the product title.

Customer Review: great value for the price
Summary: 5 Stars

Easy to calibrate and accurate to within 0.10 of a degree. Based on pressure and elevation, one can derive the temperature at which water boils. Where we live that is 208.6 degrees. In boiling water the display reads 208.5. It is sharp and very easy to push in to a large roast.
