Customer Review: excellent, affordable digital thermometer

This thermometer was tested by the wonderful folks at America's Test Kitchen/Cook's Illustrated. It came in second to a well-known but expensive (over $80) thermometer, and we have been VERY pleased with it. the only real difference between the two is that the expensive thermometer gives a reading in about 2 seconds, while this one takes 12-15 seconds. That's certainly a worthwhile tradeoff in my book! The wrapper contains calibration instructions, but we found the instrument to be perfectly calibrated when it arrived.
