Customer Review: Stylish Hook Magnet that you can upgrade

Safer handsome stylish hook. The magnet that is glued on the back (on the 1 5/8 inch size) is small (1/2 inch diameter) enough that 7 would fit on back instead of just one. It is disturbing to discover this. IT IS very thin but still strong perhaps due to the fact steel makes magnets stronger. However the smooth finish of the magnet does cause the hook to slide down a VERTICAL surface sooner than it should. The fix is easy. Apply a very thin coating of a glue that dries hard but a bit tacky. No more slide. I used Handi-Tak, a non-toxic clay like reusable adhesive I had, and put it around the outside perimeter of the magnet. It can now support a 5 foot beach towel without sliding.
I removed the magnet from one of mine and replaced it with a thin 1.5 inch diameter neodymium disk magnet, for work, due to its safer hook style. It scratches some paint off each and every time I struggle to remove it which is at least 10 times a day. Be careful what you wish for. I highly recommend it either way.
